On the fifth of December in 2008, people who contribute to and are interested in network security gathered and celebrated the end of the year. It took place in Hackerschool study room and about 70 people participated. We held a seminar with the following topic, and the after-party proceeded:

-kancho: about file format fuzzing
-hwshell: Free re-charge of traffic card via USB data manipulation

After-party continued until 5 a.m., and many people woke up in the afternoon the next day. The event went on in a friendly atmosphere, also involving some discussions. Soft Forum sponsored cash and liquor. For the seminar announcers, ZIZI provided a few special prizes.

We hosted beistlab's own hacking competition. It proceeded on the 27th and 28th of September, and in the form of online competition. The rule was simple. About 20 problems in total were given, and the contestants formed the teams and solved the problems. We had a fierce ranking competition, but team PLUS, having seized the competition from the beginning, won the first place, followed by team GoN and team TheSexyMan.

The prize given to the first place team was the tickets for Japan's Black Hat and round-trip to Japan. The second place team and the third place team received Wii and Ipold respectively, sponsored by Cyberdefense, FutureSystem, and SK.

eazy: 'Bro, is there anything fun?'
beist: 'Well, wanna host a hacking competition over weekend?'

Mini Hacking Contest started this way. Four problems were given online. Making all the problems and hosting server were done solely by beist, so the other beistlab members could participate as well. It continued for forty hours and the final winner was beistlab's hahah, and the second place team GoN.

The prize for the first place was a computer book and the right to insert any message on the main page of beist.org. GoN left a message "Hacked by ghost" on the main page, so we had many misunderstandings that our homepage was hacked.

During the burning summer of 2008, beistlab hosted a seminar. The seminar was actually the secondary purpose, and the main purpose was to have a meeting with hackers. The seminar was hosted out of fear of having a boring meeting, and it was successful.

- osiris: immunity debugger stuff
- eazy: how to play wargame

In a hot summer day (it even rained), about one hundred people participated and the after-party was fun as well. It took place in a restaurant, but it was too hot and they did not even have a mic, so it was a good chance to decide never to have a seminar in a restaurant again. But still, beer was provided in the middle of seminar, and overall it was a good event.
